Chapter 232: The Awakened Emperor Part III
Chapter 232: The Awakened Emperor Part III
“What do you mean? Then who orders you to do this?!”
“We’re doing this on our own.” He answered and shrugged, before chuckling. “Allen’s just interested in the Signetic of the man named Vincent. I didn’t care much about him at first. But after I found out that he has Signetic in him up to two types like this, as someone who’s in the front line, I need to test him just to be sure.”
“What kind of test?” Viola asked in a low-pitched voice.
“Just a little test on what level of Signetic this guy has. And if it happens to be on the same level as us, we need to expel him out of Pride, because he could ruin our plan. Oh, I can’t tell you about this plan though.”
The listener was quiet for quite a while. She looked down like she was having many thoughts in her head right now. Nero was surprised that suddenly this woman appeared in the game again, even though she had gone from the Pride for many decades. And once she was back, she went directly at him who was about to mess with that Vincent guy.
“So, it means you’re messing with Vincent out of your personal intention, and not have anything to do with Frazier?”
“Something like that.” Nero shrugged.
Hearing that, Viola grinned widely as she was giggling right away.
“Is there something funny, Miss Viola?”
“There is.” She spoke. “I have to admit that you have quite good eyes. Just seeing that kid was already enough for you to be so interested that you have to drag those item hunters to take part in this stupid test, huh? I think I finally understand all of this now.”
She said and let out a long sigh, before pointing her sword at Nero.
“Let me tell you something, no matter what you do, you would never touch that kid. With your level right now, you’ll not even be able to lay a hand on him. That’s why your stupid plan is useless, Nero.”
“Useless.” The listener raised his eyebrows. “What do you mean? You’re speaking like you know Vincent so well.”
“Know him? ...Yes, something like that. I’ve known him since he was a baby.”
“What?”
Nero knitted his eyebrows together, then he started to sense something, ...something in common about the man named Vincent and the woman in front of him. They had a similar Impulse Signetic type. Their movements in fighting were alike and tricky. Even though that guy was not as good as Viola, they still had the same scent and style.
“Don’t tell me that the guy is...”
“Yeah, ...he’s my son.”
There was an instant silence, which lasted so long that Nero blinked multiple times...
Their eyes caught each other like they were reading the other’s mind. And finally, the man burst out a loud laugh, making Viola raise her eyebrows right away.
“What’s funny?” She asked.
“Oh,” Nero replied smilingly. “I’m just amused after I can piece this together. Who would have thought that he could be your son since we’re so used to this eternal time? It makes sense though because you were gone for many years. It’s not that weird to have this grown-up child.”
Viola did not say anything in response like she could not guess what the other was trying to imply.
“Well, I understand now why you’re coming at us who are coming at Vincent. You’re just worried about your son.”
“Worried?” Viola retorted in a high-pitched voice. “No, I’m not worried about him at all. I’m back in Pride this time is not about my son, but I’m here because I want to fight you two. Because no matter what, no one can harm my son anyway.”
Nero let out an amused laugh at her words, before letting his hands down beside his torso like a sigh of taking a temporary break from the fight.
“Are you sure about that?”
He was smiling at her with a cunning gesture, making the silver-haired woman pause.
“What do you mean?”
“It means that you should be worried about your son, Viola. Because I’ve given his fight strategy, movement pattern, attack skills, abilities, and some little fun facts about how to fight against the Impulse to those item hunters already.”
“You!” She yelled out of shock.
“We don’t work sloppily, you know. Every time that I commanded the monsters to attack Vincent, I also collected his data and analyzed all his fighting patterns thoroughly. And I think that you already knew about this ability of mine, right, Miss Viola?”
After that, the amethyst-purple eyes glanced at Viola frighteningly. And the one who was being stared at even dropped a sweat for the first time. This was not like she was afraid of those eyes, but it was the worry about her son that trembled her heart before the enemy’s eyes right now!
“I think they should have started to feast by now. So, let’s check on your son a bit, shall we?”
SNAP!
After a slight finger-snapping, a large digital screen appeared behind his back.
And the image that it was showing almost made a mother’s heart like Viola’s stop. The rust-colored eyes widened at what she was seeing in front of her. Those hands that had previously held her favorite weapons tightly now loosened, almost letting go of them.
“It’s such a beautiful image,” Nero said. “Well, I think it’d be better if everyone else see it, too. Vincent’s like their hero anyway. So, seeing the hero in a condition like this would be weirdly fun. Do you think so, Viola?”

“This is getting too long. When will the signal problems get fixed?”
That was Manoch who spoke, feeling a little upset. He glanced around the Light Ring consideringly again, but it was still quiet. And it did not seem like the GMs were fixing this at all. Moreover, the sky looked like it was about to pour rain down at any moment now.
“I wonder how Wisana’s doing right now.”
Maysa spoke to herself, while she was looking at Waree who did not look so well in her seat.
“How are you doing, Nam? Did it get any better?” Angie asked with concern.
“I’m okay, Angie. A lot better. ...It’ll be gone in a while.”
Even though that was what she said, her face did not seem like it got better at all. Maysa could see that she said it just to assure Angie to stop worrying about her. ...After that, Maysa looked to the other side and saw that there were two more people who were restlessly concerned, which were Leonard and Lala!
“Hey, Leonard, Lala, could you stop walking back and forth already? It started to get annoying somehow.” Maysa said.
“Well, I’m worried about Master, Miss Maysa. ...I have no idea where he could be right now.”
Lala replied in a high-pitched voice, making the listener sigh.
“He could be somewhere on the Light Ring. He can’t disappear. Let’s wait for the signal to be fixed and just contact him later.”
“I’m afraid that will be too late.”
The NPC girl spoke to herself softly in a volume that could only be heard by her and Leonard. A moment later, Maysa rested her back against the seat tiredly, because she was concerned about Wisana more. ...The last thing he did, according to Manoch, was rush to touch the crystal, and then the signal was cut off. ...For god’s sake, she was hoping that he was not in any trouble, even though she had a bad feeling about it.
OHHH!!
It did not take long after that before the audience started making cheering noises again, making Maysa look up to see what was happening. ...She saw that the screens in the middle of the Light Ring started showing images on them again, and the image was something that yanked her heart violently!
The man who used to be elegant all the time, right now leaning himself against a wall defeatedly. ...His attractive face was now covered with blood and wounds. His clothes were badly torn, showing that he had been attacked and severely injured. ...The tall man was holding his arm painfully. Moreover, he was surrounded by five players who were fully armed.
Just seeing this was enough for everyone to know that...
This man had just been beaten up so badly. And from how he was standing and the wounds, it could be said that he was in a fatal condition now.
Those light grey eyes widened. Her lips gasped out of shock.
“Wisana!!!”
