Due to rising awareness with firearms courtesy of gun-toting heroes on the silver screen as well as dreary evening news on yet another school shooting incident, it is ideal to take some quality time to ensure one's children is properly acquainted with this matter. Although it may seem a waste of time to learn how to make a paper gun, it can be converted into a fun activity between parent and child. At the same time, a wise adult can inject some good values into the time spent together as every exercise should end with a good moral.
As families are constantly in danger of drifting apart due to busy schedules at work and school, family time is often shelved in the interest of housework, laundry, music classes, sports practice and other distractions. Even though if members are physically in the same house, they do not spend much time interacting with one another as most are either online with friends or offline for a catnap. Since children are constantly bringing home art projects from school and making the refrigerator their display cabinets, why not set aside an hour or two to indulge in a project between parent and child? Whether it is learning how to bake some cookies or fold a paper gun, the means to an end certainly justifies the act. As children grow up so fast nowadays, it is best to seize the moment and spend as much time with them as the day will come when they choose friends over family.
By starting small, there are numerous designs to look into on how to make a paper gun. Short of bringing out the artillery of glue, tape and scissors, a simple piece of paper often suffices. With a few nifty folds as instructed, a barrel easily materializes in no time. Another piece of paper can then be folded to form the chamber or part held in the hand. Once both pieces slide into position, one is thus rewarded with a wannabe weapon. By adding colors and sound effects, one ends up with a rainbow result minus the menace.
After one completes the instructions to fold a paper gun, a rolled up pellet of paper can be placed atop the barrel and blown to resemble a shot. One can just as easily flick the pellet with a finger for a greater distance. An alternative to these cavemen techniques is a strategically strung elastic band to do the deed with more style and realism.
